Funeral for tragic Anna

THE funeral of 11-years-old Anna Law, who died following a road traffic collision, takes place in Sale today.
Her family have been paying tribute to their beautiful, happy girl.
Anna Maria Law, of Stamford Place, in Sale, was a pupil at Blessed Thomas Holford Catholic College.
She died in hospital from her injuries after being hit by a car while crossing Oakfield Road close to Altrincham Leisure Centre, on Wednesday, just before 4.30pm.
"Anna was a beautiful, happy girl, very easy to love and very much loved," said Anna's mum, Cathryn (47), dad, Peter (45), sisters, Claire (19) and Ruth (17) and brothers Philip (16), Joseph (13) and Nicholas (3).
"We are a large family and Anna loved family occasions and get-togethers. She always helped out her family and friends and would do anything for anyone.
"She was very sporty and played for Sale United Girls Under-12s football team, as well as the school netball team. Words cannot explain how much we will miss her or what she meant to us."
Since the news of the incident broke many people have posted their messages of support on the Messenger website, including many of her school friends.
John Cornally, headteacher at Anna's high school, said: "The news of the tragic death of Anna, one of our Year 7 pupils, has been received with great sadness by our entire school community.
"Anna was in her first year at Blessed Thomas Holford and already had impressed everyone she met with her lovely nature and caring personality. She was lively, good humoured and a joy to have around the school.

"Anna was a very popular girl, had lots of friends and enjoyed school. She enjoyed her sporting activities and was captain of the Year 7 netball team. Anna will be sadly missed by friends and teachers.
"Since the accident on Wednesday afternoon our school has offered prayers continuously for Anna, her parents and her family. Our prayers and thoughts go out to her parents, brothers, sister and entire family."
He added that a school mass for Anna has been arranged for later this week.
Anna and another 11-year old girl were crossing the road outside the leisure centre when they were in collision with a Honda Civic, driven by an 80-year-old man from Hale.
The other girl received treatment for cuts and bruises and was later discharged from hospital.
Requiem Mass will be at St Joseph's RC Church in Hope Road, Sale at 12.15pm, followed by interment at Brooklands Cemetery. The family has asked for donations, if desired, to be given to the intensive care unit at Pendlebury Children's Hospital or CAFOD. Donations can be sent to Arthur Gresty Funeral Homes, Greystones, 305, Manchester Road, Altrincham.

I was so saddened that as I was writing my message it was when the news was breaking that Anna had died. Later confirmed by the local news. Myself and my children who attended St Joseph's are saying prayers for the new angel in heaven. Requiescat in pace.

She had the best friends in the world, she was well loved. everybody, even boys cried after her death. Her death was on the 25/03/07 in the evening. My thoughts to Anna's Family. Anna was one of Heavens Angels.They walk beside us all everyday.You only have to read the Tributes paid to her.The impact of her lose is great but at the same time what a wonderful privilege it has been to all the people who have known 'Anna'
She'll walk beside her Family everyday to help them through the times ahead.
I'm sure that a fitting Tribute will come from this in her memory.

Anna you were such a beautiful girl and i know that nothing will ever stop us all loving you. I can honestly remember your laugh and your smile and all the times that you made me giggle. We all miss you so much but the sun is shining so i know that you are happy wherever you are. Its so unfair that we had only had 11 years with you but they were 11 beautiful years and i think that we were all so lucky to have had you in our lives.
