Advertising takes the bloom off our area

10:48am Monday 8th December 2008

WITH reference to a recent letter ‘Leave our beds alone’, I, too am angry and dismayed by Trafford’s decision to deface the floral areas at the corner of Eastway and Washway Road by allowing advertising hoardings to be erected.

I'M a recently qualified driver and Metrolink user and think it’s appalling that due to my age, 17, I'm unable to vote on the congestion charge that directly affects me .

Cannot afford to find anymore money to pay for charge

4:20pm Saturday 6th December 2008

Barely able to afford to live now, and with huge tax rises promised to pay for Labour's obscene borrowings, we simply cannot afford to find yet another forty pounds per week for the congestion charge, which it would be in our case, just to get to work, especially as neither my wife or I work near a bus or tram route. Astonishingly, not everybody works with a hundred yards of Piccadilly Bus Station!

Use your vote to stop daily gridlock

10:33am Friday 5th December 2008

TRAFFORD residents are finally to have their say on the Transport Innovation Fund bid, with the prospect of getting nearly £3 billion investment in our dilapidated transport infrastructure, but which will only be received if we vote YES and accept a limited peak-time only congestion charge.

Before voting take a look at London

10:34am Friday 5th December 2008

BEFORE people get too close to voting YES to the Congestion Charge perhaps they should look at the London Congestion Charge which has now gone from £5 per day to £8 per day, or £25 per week to £40 per week, for the average motorist who doesn't live or work near a direct bus service, I would think that most people would come into that category) Therefore, how long will it be before I have to pay £40 to get to my drudgery and my wife also has to pay £40 for her journey to work? Can anybody explain to me which empty, ravaged bank account we can raid to find another £80 every single week? Or are we the only couple not rolling in money at the moment?
