Health Board needs to go

TRAFFORD Healthcare NHS Trust has been without a permanent chief executive for two and a half years. Now Ms Selvan, Chair of the Trust and her board were on the edge of appointing a long-term sick drunk driver.

Ms Selvan justifies the selection as a "rigorous recruitment process." Clearly this process was as incompetent as the rest of the sad story of the last few years - the trust so far in debt that it has to borrow money to pay its staff, Altrincham General Hospital further away than ever from replacement or refurbishment, no business plan for it submitted, no expert asked to advise on the value of the sites of Altrincham and St Anne's Hospitals, and so on.

But the Primary Care Trust has developed a business plan for Stretford Memorial Hospital with private developers!

Must we tolerate this any longer? I call for the resignation of Ms Selvan and her board, so that a new board may actually make some progress.

Mr D Eastwood, Heyes Lane, Timperley
