All afraid for our future

I AM writing on behalf of the majority of residents living at the ‘Spinney’ near to the proposed scheme Bowfell Court at Jackson Court, Urmston.

We are strongly opposed to this scheme being carried out, the reasons being: 1. Many of us living here at the ‘Spinney’ gave up our homes to live in a safe and peaceful environment, free from worry and pressure of harassment from outside elements and this dream has been shattered by mention of this scheme.

2.We are sure it is also a worry to the many parents whose children enjoy activities at the scout hut at the end of Craig Avenue and Bowfell Road, ie morris dancers, scouts and cubs and toddlers in the nursery.

3. Across the road Flixton Grammar College has many children travelling along the surrounding roads to Bowfell Court throughout the day.

All in all it is a very bad idea to locate this building in a highly populated area which will affect all sections of the community.

The feeling of the senior citizens here at the ‘Spinney’ is that we are all afraid for our future.
